cmouse: (christmas)
Sigh. I had a steak sandwich for lunch today. I probably have more of a chance of dying from SARs or being blown up than Mad Cow Disease. It just means I'm going to be cooking a lot of pork/duck/turkey/fish/shrimp for a while. This may not be a bad thing. I shall not be paranoid, what's done is done. I think I'll make a duck.

My laptop died finally. It stopped recognizing it was plugged in. I got to back up some stuff - my thesis and such - but not everything I wanted (anime and music). I hope HP is good to it, but it needs a new motherboard. They say it'll be back on Friday. In the mean time, I have to use my Dad's laptop, which is kinda difficult since he doesn't want me installing any software on it. I wish my parents were more computer savy. I guess that is partially my fault.

I went to the doctor about my knees. They tried a few things, none really worked. The good(?) news is that it is a muscle thing, so it should heal eventually. In the mean time I am supposed to be a lot more active (anyone want to go walking with me?) and not fall down anymore. No theater for me for a while. I may end up in Physical Therapy. I don't have time for that.

I got an A in security!!! And a B in Probability. I guess expecting an A in Probability was too much to ask after my miserable performance on the second test.

They are tearing up my town. The main road through town is being made a major travel route. 4 lanes and all. My town looks like the big dig. Many of the local businesses have been displaced by the road. Someone from my high school was murdered. We have a "super walmart" It's painful. "Home" is becoming more and more a mythical place rather than where I go when I visit my parents.

So I'm trying to figure out if Clark is making a fool of himself with all this vice-president dirt kicking. If so, then I'm back to no political canidate. (Sorry to the Dean people, it's not going to happen). I'm still not going to vote for anyone who supports (or who may) universal health care. I like living where I live, and I like being alive.

Dispite the above, I'm pretty happy. I miss [livejournal.com profile] purplebob. But I'm enjoying my break. My parents want to see ROTK! Yay!

I'm still happy that I got something at the ET Christmas party. :)
My new years resolution is to be more in touch with people. Look out. ;)

(There is another post right after this one)

cmouse: (theater)
So after a brief stint with the idea of doing a show from Transiberian Orchstra's Christmas Eve and Other Stories, I'm thinking of writing my own show. I have gradually come to the conclusion it's inevitable. I've always had a directoral vision/dream/etc of doing a multimedia show. No, not the multimedia that was all the rage in computers a while ago.

This was the original idea behind Songs. To me Songs is one story, one message told in many different styles and many different textures. Originally I was going to some of the pieces as more theatrical and some as more dance and some more music. Change the focus on each piece. And make it all seamlessly mesh.

We can go onward and keep extending this concept. We can tell the same story with drama, dance, non-vocal music, video. If we integrate these correctly we can get a really neat piece of... art? Theater. It's still theater in my mind.

So I have ideas. First I need a plot. I have a few ideas.
